The Pietermaritzburg (PMB) warehouse team celebrated a significant milestone in August: an impressive 3 million hours worked without a single Lost Time Injury (LTI).
Shaun Ramsunder, Country SHERQ Manager, expressed his pride in the achievement. “Reaching 3 million injury-free hours is a testament to the dedication and commitment of our team at the PMB warehouse,” he said. “This facility is known for prioritising a safe, healthy and productive work environment. We’re looking forward to them securing NOSA accreditation soon to complement their existing safety protocols, including ISO 22000 accreditation. Well done to the entire team!”
The state-of-the-art 51,000m² facility, a crucial component of the sugar supply chain, ensures efficient distribution of Illovo’s products. Its success is rooted in a combination of factors: a well-trained workforce, advanced material handling equipment, and stringent safety protocols.
