Our Commercial team has been awarded the 2024 Supplier Excellence Award by South African Breweries (SAB). This is a remarkable recognition of our enduring partnership and dedication. Well done to the entire team!
SAB has a long-standing tradition of recognising suppliers who exemplify reliability, flexibility and commitment. After several years of pausing these awards, SAB has reintroduced them and we are thrilled to be among the few honoured this year.
“This award is all about partnership and dedication. We’ve been proudly supplying SAB for over two decades, and this recognition speaks volumes about the strength of our relationship”, said Vusumuzi Mazibuko, Industrial Accounts Manager.
What set us apart this year was our exceptional supply reliability. Whether it’s sourcing sugar or ensuring on-time deliveries, our team consistently rises to the occasion. This is part of our recovery effort as in 2021 – 2022 season during their peak period we couldn't supply them due to availability of refined sugar.
A highlight of the past year was our support for SAB’s new sugar product manufacturing site in Port Elizabeth. An ambitious expansion effort, despite the long distance and logistical challenges, our team stepped up.
“When SAB approached us for help getting product to their new Port Elizabeth facility, we didn’t hesitate. Our flexibility allowed us to find solutions that worked. We made it happen, and SAB appreciated our ability to deliver under pressure”, said Mazibuko.
Adding to our value proposition is our proactive response to the rising demand for liquid sugar, which has become increasingly important to SAB operations. Our infrastructure has proven critical in meeting this need swiftly and efficiently.
“Our bulk depot in Gauteng gives us a unique advantage. We are the only miller with this capability, allowing us to deliver sugar directly into customers' silos via bulk tankers. It’s a game-changer in terms of responsiveness and ease of service”, said Marina Du Toit, Industrial Accounts Manager.
Our National Sales Manager, Bonginkosi Hlefana, accepted the award on behalf of the team and ISSA at the ceremony held at the SAB headquarters on the 5th of June 2025. This award is a shared achievement across all functions and a powerful reminder of what we can accomplish when trust and excellence drive everything we do. We have recently secured supply for the 2025 – 26 season where we will supply them their full 13 000 tons which is 100% of their granular sugar requirements. “Around here, we are all on the same team”.
