Investing in the future of our youth through our STEM Schools Programme

Illovo Sugar South Africa is proud to invest in the future of our youth through our STEM Schools Programme. We recently hosted an award ceremony at our academy in Eston, recognising the outstanding achievements of matric learners from our adopted schools.

🏆 Sihle High School near Sezela Mill led the way with a 96.8% pass rate, earning recognition for both Highest Overall Achievement and Best Mathematics Performance.

🏆 Mabomvini Combined School near Eston Mill excelled with 85% Bachelor’s passes, also taking home the award for Best Physical Science Performance.

We are especially proud to announce that five learners from our adopted schools have been awarded Illovo Sugar South Africa bursaries to pursue studies in STEM fields, including Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Environmental Management.

Ms Lindiwe Khuzwayo, Head of Corporate Affairs, said,“We truly value education since many of the roles within the company require technical know-how. Cultivating a strong academic foundation is a launchpad for future success.”
