Our Eston Academy has officially received accreditation from the Quality Council for Trades and Occupations (QCTO) as a Skills Development Provider. QCTO was established in 2010, is South Africa’s public entity responsible for ensuring the quality and oversight of occupational qualifications, part-qualifications, and skills programmes, including their design, accreditation, implementation, assessment, and certification.
This achievement marks a significant step forward in our journey to build a future-ready workforce and contribute meaningfully to our communities. This milestone is more than just a certificate on the wall; it unlocks tangible value across multiple dimensions of our business which include credibility and recognition, our BBBEE value as well as talent attraction and retention.
“This accreditation is a powerful enabler not only for ISSA, but for the people who make it thrive. It reflects our commitment to building capability, driving transformation and promoting a learning culture and creating meaningful impact. It reaffirms our UGR aspiration that “Around here, we enable success”, said Nellie Naidoo, Technical Academy Manager.
This is the beginning of an exciting journey that will strengthen both our people and business alike. The Academy team has already taken the first by receiving for accreditation for four programmes:
- Occupational Certificate: Sugar Processing Machine Operator
- Occupational Certificate Management Assistant
- Occupational Skills Programme: Basic Emergency First Responder
- Occupational Certificate: Training and Development Practitioner
In additional to becoming an accredited skills development provider, the process has already begun to proactively become a certified assessment center.
A huge congratulation to everyone involved! The Eston Academy is making great strides to becoming a center of excellence in skills development. Keep an eye out for more updates.
