2025 Thuthuka Nathi ESD programme empowering local entrepreneurs through skills and opportunity
Earlier last month we proudly launched the 2025 Thuthuka Nathi Enterprise & Supplier Development (ESD) training programme, welcoming over 20 entrepreneurs from communities surrounding our Merebank and Sezela Mills.
In partnership with Raizcorp, a Supplier Development specialist, the programme will run for ten months, combining classroom-based learning with on-site business guidance. It is designed to help participants sharpen their business skills, strengthen their enterprises, and unlock new opportunities for sustainable growth.
Our Head of Corporate Affairs, Lindiwe Khuzwayo, officially welcomed the cohort and encouraged them to embrace the journey with purpose and determination. She highlighted the important role these entrepreneurs play in building thriving local communities and contributing to a resilient economy.
The keynote address was delivered by Sinoxolo Sabelo, the 2024 winner of the Thuthuka Nathi ESD programme. As a successful vegetable farmer and founder of Andisumbuso, Sabelo inspired the new cohort to push boundaries, stay committed, and believe in the power of perseverance.
We wish all the entrepreneurs the very best as they begin this exciting journey. We look forward to seeing how their businesses grow and the positive impact they will continue to make in their communities.
