Rewarding the Traders Who Drive Our Success, Waya Waya!
Excitement had been building for weeks as Illovo’s Commercial team prepared to celebrate one of the standout moments of the Waya Waya competition, the official handover of a brand new bakkie to one very lucky trader. After months of anticipation, the big day finally arrived.
“The Waya Waya competition was introduced to create excitement in the market, boost volume sales and reward the loyal traders who play a crucial role in driving our route to consumer strategy. From the outset, the promotion gained strong momentum as customers rallied behind the campaign” said Mthokozisi Sibisi, Acting Trade Marketing Manager. The commercial team gathered at Amina Wholesalers in the Vaal, Gauteng, for the first major handover celebration. Surrounded by cheers and festive energy, the winner, Mr. Themba Mkhohlisa, was handed the keys to his brand new bakkie.
Mr Mkhohlisa was visibly delighted, expressing heartfelt gratitude for the life changing prize and acknowledging the role Illovo plays in supporting traders on the ground. His win became a proud moment not only for him, but also for his community and the Illovo team who witnessed it. In addition to the grand prize, pallet jacks were also handed over at both Amina Wholesalers and Devland Cash & Carry. The recipients were Mohammed Tanweer and Zaheer Paruk, respectively both recognised for their strong participation and loyalty throughout the competition.
The celebrations did not end there. Illovo continued the Waya Waya momentum with another special handover but this time in KwaZulu Natal. A Hyster forklift was presented to Phoenix Cash and Carry, to the store manager, Mr Niresh Singh another valued customer who had shown exceptional commitment throughout the competition.
These moments highlighted the power of partnership, loyalty, and shared success, offering lasting memories and strengthening relationships across the Illovo community. “The excitement on the winners' face is encouraging me to do more of the campaigns like this to build a strong and solid relationship with our customers and consumers”, adds Sibisi.
